On March 3, 2011, in Services, by Mia Sankari

Congratulations to our Math Counts Club for receiving the HIGHEST honor and being awarded the Gold level!  Eman Schools will be recognized on the Math Counts web page as well as receive the Gold Level Trophy and banner for our school!  Our School Math Counts Party will be on Tuesday March 8th and include a luncheon followed by an award ceremony with trophies, certificates, and gifts.

For those not familar with Math Counts, MATHCOUNTS is one of the country’s largest and most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors and students and has been around for OVER 28 years.  It is a program that  builds math skills, promotes logical thinking and sharpens students’ analytical abilities.  Each week, students are given various Math story problems to solve.  Most problems are based on their Math curriculum in Middle School including some geometry and algebra problems.  What makes it fun and interesting are the questions are made into real life questions for the students to relate to.  For example, one question recently was a relational problem with how many silly bands a student had compared to how many apps on another students phone there was.

Each year, more than 250,000 students utilize MATHCOUNTS!   Eman Schools is proud to share with you our 12  Mathletes in our Math Counts Club.

They are:  Kyce Hassuneh, Iman Mahoui, Sara Alhaffar, Asmaa Mahoui, Asmaa Rashid, AbdulRahman Nada, Amir Sankari, Mahmoud Arab, Fatima Hassuneh, Noor Abdullah, Mariam Rimawi, & Mohammad Rashid.  MABROOK!
